The Shop Mechanic at RFK Racing would be responsible for the quality production, preparation, and disassembly of the equipment by using various mechanical tools and techniques. Performs different aspects of mechanical work depending upon task assigned such as Suspension, Brake assemblies, Transaxle service, Fuel Cells, interior and electrical.

Essential Job Functions and responsibilities:

  • Maintain inventory and service assigned components (Suspension, Transaxle, etc.).
  • Clean and inspect components.
  • Disassemble race vehicles post event (suspension, engine, and interior components) as required.
  • Work with engineering on issues and process improvements as they arise.
  • Clean work areas daily.
  • Performs other related duties for Shop Mechanic operations as determined by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferably supplemented with technical training
  • 5 + years as a Shop Mechanic or equivalent and preferably racing experience
  • Basic computer skills (Parts and service record database entry)
  • Must be able to organize, manage and prioritize multiple task and deadlines.
  • Able to communicate successfully at many levels within the organization
  • Self-motivated with a high initiative, inner drive and attention to detail that is adept at working both independently and as part of a team
  • Accountability for assigned responsibilities and actions.
  • Work must be performed at a high level of accuracy.
  • Critical thinking and reasoning skills to solve a problem.
