Team Penske is seeking a skilled Body Fabricator to support NASCAR Body Fabrication operations. This position is responsible for a variety of welding, fabrication, body installation, and repair processes to support race vehicle preparation and performance. The ideal candidate can work independently or as part of a team, producing high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines and exacting specifications. Work includes racecar body installation, vehicle and composite repairs, pit support equipment fabrication, and shop equipment fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate materials and components to meet Team Penske requirements as directed by management and engineering.
  • Prepare, fit, and install body panels using metrology equipment and measurement tools.
  • Cut, shape, bend, and prepare metal and tubing for fabrication projects.
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials and components.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including drill presses, shears, brakes, rollers, rotary punches, and other manual machinery.
  • Repair carbon fiber and composite panels using approved repair and adhesion techniques.
  • Apply heat shielding, perform finishing work, and prepare components for installation.
  • Clean, deburr, grind, and prepare materials and surfaces for welding, adhesives, paint, or wraps.
  • Document measurements, processes, and work procedures to ensure repeatability and consistency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality control personnel to improve fabrication processes and maintain accuracy.
  • Prepare components and assemblies for paint or vinyl wrap through sanding, body filling, smoothing joints, and finishing surfaces.
  • Operate sanders, grinders, and other fabrication equipment while following all PPE and safety requirements.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure finished work meets Team Penske standards and engineering specifications.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.

Qualifications
