Compensation: $45,000 to $55,000 Annually

The Purchaser position is responsible for sourcing and procuring goods, materials, and services required for Company operations. This role ensures the best value through competitive pricing, quality, timely delivery, and strong supplier relationships while maintaining compliance with Company policies and budgets. Maintains and manages inventory, evaluate reports, stock adjustments, and backorders while remaining focused on overall inventory.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Source, negotiate and purchase materials, equipment and services
- Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Place and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to support operational needs
- Work closely with inventory management to maintain accurate stock levels and accurate inventory counts
- Identify and onboard new vendors while maintaining existing supplier relationships
- Ensure compliance with Company procurement policies and applicable regulations
- Resolve issues related to deliveries, quality or pricing discrepancies; generate vendor returns for slow moving products
- Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Negotiate with vendors for best possible costs for products
- Collaborate with finance, operations and warehouse teams
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement or buying
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, use of Excel to analyze data and make decisions
- NetSuite experience a plus
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associates in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or related field
Additional Skills:
- Experience in the automotive racing industry
- Knowledge of supplier contracts and purchasing regulations
- Cost analysis and budgeting
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment, with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Self-motivated and positive attitude – presents willingness to assist where/when needed
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external contacts, to include active listening, developing rapport and resolving conflict
- Attention to detail, professional behavior, excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic are necessary to be successful in this position.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Physical Abilities:
- Ability to sit, walk, stop, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl within an office and warehouse environment
- Apply physical mobility, including reaching, lifting, holding, pushing, pulling, climbing and arm/leg extension within an office and warehouse environment
- Ability to lift, pull and/or push up to 50 pounds on occasion
- Work on a computer much of the workday
- Work around moderate noises in an office and warehouse environment
