We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Carbon Fiber Laborer to join our Carbon Fiber Department.
Position Summary
The Carbon Fiber Laborer is responsible for supporting the fabrication, layup, trimming, and finishing of carbon fiber composite components used on our NASCAR race cars. This role works closely with experienced composite technicians and department leadership to produce high-quality parts that meet the performance standards required at the highest level of motorsport.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the layup and fabrication of carbon fiber composite parts and assemblies
- Prepare molds and tooling surfaces for carbon fiber application
- Cut, trim, and finish carbon fiber components to specification
- Support the oven curing process operations as directed
- Assist with other tasks within the department as necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with JGR safety standards
- Properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals, resins, and materials per OSHA and JGR guidelines
- Follow all general safety rules including keeping aisles and fire exits clear, proper chemical labeling, and safe lifting practices
- Participate in required safety training, medical evaluations, respirator fit testing, and hearing conservation programs
- Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or injuries to department management immediately
- Safely operate machinery and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in composite fabrication, carbon fiber, fiberglass, or a related manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work in environments with fumes, dust, and noise — proper PPE will be provided and required
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
