[Job Description


Responsible for the installation, removal, operation, and maintenance of all data acquisition equipment on the race cars as well as within the race shop. Extensive travel is required. Passion for motorsports is highly recommended.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Installing & removing data acquisition systems on the race cars, including all harnesses and sensors.
  • Operating & maintaining the systems during track events, including setting up / tearing down the data carts at each event.
  • Replacing sensors as needed during the track events with minimal impact on the running of the race cars.
  • Setting up, maintaining, & troubleshooting the computer network at the track.
  • Monitor critical systems while the car is on-track.
  • Assist competition with data analysis during tests.
  • Generating post event reports including the issues summary & the data summary for the Engineering Department and race teams.
  • Assisting the Engineering Department with any data acquisition needs as it relates to test equipment such as the K & C rig, Flow Rig, steering dyno, etc.
  • Performing routine maintenance on the harnesses, sensors, & data carts between track events.
  • Perform Calibration of electronic systems, pressure scanners assisting the aerodynamics department

Qualifications:


The successful candidate will have previous experience with Motec or McLaren data acquisition systems & software. Other systems will be considered on a case by case basis. Must be flexible with work hours, & have the ability to work under high pressure situations with minimal supervision.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics will be considered

Experience in the following areas will be advantageous:

  • Building wiring harnesses using Autosport connectors & Raychem DR25 products.
  • Calibrating sensors.
  • Strain gauging suspension components.
  • Basic fabrication skills to help with sensor installation.
