QC Lead Manager

QC Lead Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of processes, equipment, and technicians as it relates to the Quality Control department. Expectations will include maintaining equipment, and managing intake and output of parts and data to meet a high quality of performance within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scan and Faro Arm analysist and report developer
  • Manage and development aspects of all QC processes
  • Coordinate, manage, and maintain metrology equipment
  • Calibrate, validate, setup, operate, and maintain hawkeye system
  • Sync our efforts and OEM metrology efforts
  • Align Trackhouse metrology practices with NASCAR and track discrepancies
  • Coordinate QC efforts and specifications with aero/design/fabrication/race engineering groups
  • Work with design group to develop necessary metrology fixturing
  • Manage team of metrology specialists and technicians
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting of all QC Equipment
  • Working knowledge of the Creaform Scanner and portable CMMs
  • Maintain and organize database of body and floor scans for team/organization
  • Assist with conducting assessment of new technology and methods to make recommendations regarding usage
  • Assist with conducting routine and nonroutine inspections/quality control of all aspects of the race vehicles before race events
  • Safely operating machinery according to recommended safety specifications, including use of all protective equipment necessary (protective eyewear, gloves, mask, earplugs, etc.) while identifying any safety hazards and reporting all risks immediately to a supervisor.
  • Provide assistance to other team members on other duties as appropriate.
  • Other duties & special projects will be added as assigned Serve as a technical liaison between quality control and other departments on issues discovered.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work-related experience with installation, positioning, and measurement of highly detailed aerodynamic surfaces, preferably in the racing industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, or similar
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring devices and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Manual dexterity and good eyesight are required to perform essential job functions. 
  • Must be able to concentrate on detailed work for long periods of time and perform moderate to heavy lifting.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and use safety equipment correctly.
  • Must maintain a high level of quality and ability to conform to the wants/needs of the race team target settings
