Social Media Manager

General Summary: The Social Media Manager will report to the Marketing Director. In conjunction with the Senior Marketing Manager, the Social Media Manager will assist with Haas Factory Team’s overall social media strategy and presence, helping support the planning and day-to-day execution of key social media channels. This role will aid in leading community management, maintaining the day-to-day content calendar, and playing a significant role in content ideation. This person will also remotely assist on live coverage of races (weekends schedules will vary).

This person must have a strong understanding of video content ideation and creation specifically for social media platforms and possess a thorough knowledge of each platform. A passion for social media, and a knack for knowing what separates the best content from the rest, is crucial. NASCAR/racing knowledge is not required but is viewed as a bonus. The ideal candidate will be primarily focused on creating video content, ideating concepts at the shop, and supporting the Senior Social Media Manager on live coverage on weekends when needed.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scripting storyboards, day-to-day measuring and monitoring of key Haas Factory Team’s social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Work with Senior Social Media Manager to determine race coverage on all social media channels for race weekends.
  • Manage projects and priorities with the ability to make recommendations on key areas of focus for the Haas Factory Team.
  • Create and manage a day-to-day calendar focused on brand initiatives, partner priorities, team/driver storylines and fan engagement.
  • Develop ideas in support of partner programs, driver initiatives, and Haas Factory Team brand objectives.
  • May be asked to participate in other projects related to the Haas alliance teams, Haas F1 Team, Gene Haas Foundation, and additional miscellaneous projects.

Qualifications and Work Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in social and content strategy development, community management with a brand or agency.
  • Strong understanding of today’s social media landscape and creative formats.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including writing and grammatical ability.
  • Business judgment: strategic and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask, managing multiple projects with tight timelines.
  • A team-oriented mindset and the ability to relate to others and develop sound relationships.
  • Experience with video editing and graphics software is strongly preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work with employees in a positive work environment.
  • The ability to quickly and calmly react and solve problems, especially “on the fly” as necessary.
  • High level of initiative and work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

General office environment at HFT. No extraordinary physical demands are required. Typical work week is 4 days in office, 1-2 days remote covering social media channels for NASCAR races (typically weekends).

Travel Demands:

Travel to race events and/or extended hours may be required at times. To start, the position will require 4-6 weekends of travel to NASCAR races, with an opportunity to expand at employee’s desire. Air travel, hotel accommodations, and per diem are the responsibility of the Haas Factory Team.
