IT Tech Travel
This position is responsible for IT related racetrack setup. This position will be responsible for accepting, diagnosing, and providing resolution for all race event systems. This position is responsible for at-track set-up, procedural documentation creation/updates, and ownership of at-track devices for scheduled race events and testing events for the organization. Management will provide guidance, direction, and additional technical support (as needed). As a backup, this position will provide support, as needed/available, to other shop IT technicians. Typical work schedule will be Thursday through Tuesday with limited vacation during the race season. This position requires extensive travel, which will be paid by the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- All aspects of racetrack set-up at each race and testing event.
- Diagnose and resolve network, hardware and software issues arising while teams at track/race events.
- Execute projects involving cabling, mounting access points and setting up equipment when necessary.
- Bringing up all systems and ensuring successful connectivity locally to the internet and Trackhouse backbone networks.
- Ensure all Track Audio/Visual equipment is operational.
- Meeting all specified deadlines for race car preparation while producing a quality product.
- Keeping work area clean and organized at all times.
- Provide assistance to other team members on other duties as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of work-related experience as IT Technician
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a Technical Degree in a computer related field preferred.
- Experience supporting Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 8.1).
- Limited Windows Server experience a benefit.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting software/applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Network and wireless experience.
- Creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Microsoft certification preferred, but not required.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively during the race season.
