LEGACY MOTOR CLUB™ is a professional motor racing club fielding two full-time entries in the NASCAR Cup Series for John Hunter Nemechek and Erik Jones. The Club is based in Statesville, N.C, and co-owned by entrepreneur Maury Gallagher and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson. NASCAR Hall of famer Richard Petty “The King” is a Club Ambassador.

Our mission at LEGACY MOTOR CLUB is to create an inclusive environment for auto-racing enthusiasts, celebrate the past and future legacies of our partners and team members, and compete for wins and championships at NASCAR’s elite level.

LEGACY Motor Club is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Technical Director for the NASCAR Cup Series team. The Technical Director has a key role within the senior management team and will provide a high level of expertise, guidance, and oversight in all areas of the NASCAR Cup Series program. The main tenants of this role are to ensure the race cars are legal, safe, fast, and reliable. This position will require an extensive amount of communication and collaboration between internal and external partners.

Successful candidates should be able to perform the essential job functions listed below.

Essential Job Functions:

· Daily management of the chassis, body, vehicle engineering, and simulation groups

· Responsible for providing long-range strategic direction to the NASCAR Cup series competition and engineering groups

· Additional Crew Chief role and responsibilities on vehicle fielded by LEGACY M.C. when needed

· Provide high-level oversight in the implementation/application of LEGACY M.C. processes

· Work closely with Senior program leadership on logistics and performance of the race teams

· Intimate knowledge of professional motorsports tool and application workflows (simulation, aerodynamics, DIL simulator)

· Extensive experience formulating technical plans, executing test, and determining data trends from collected data sources

· Manage all technical inspection processes, concerns, rules, issues/conflicts, procedural concerns, etc.

· Handle complex issues appropriately within the organization as it relates to race competition.

· Streamlining processes and workflows to allow for team to operate at max efficiency in a high paced environment

· Maintain strong working relationship with high level members of NASCAR, Toyota, or any significant LEGACY M.C. technical alliance partners

· Attend NASCAR Monthly Team Technical Meeting(s) as requested

· Maintain strong knowledge of NextGen industry vendors, products, and systems as they relate to the vehicle

· Maintain proficiency in understanding and articulating the application of all NASCAR rules within the current specified vehicle

· Perform other duties that may be assigned

Job Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical subject from four-year college or university

· 10+ years of experience in NASCAR, IMSA, INDYCAR, or other top-level motorsports series

· Previous High-Level technical experience and race team management skills

· Other Requirements:

o Comprehensive knowledge of technical policies, procedures, and best practice in motorsports

o Experience managing groups/teams

o An analytical mind with a meticulous attention to detail

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees within a racing organization

o Advanced computer skills

o Possess a personality that can motivate, mentor, train and get the job done

o Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel extensively

o Previous race experience required

o Skilled at finding efficient workflow processes

o Proven problem solver

o Must be a team player and have a high level of integrity
