Mechanic, Track Attack

For the first time in its history, Hendrick Performance is now offering for sale to the public, track-ready road course cars. Hand built from the ground up on our race-proven NASCAR chassis, intended for personal track day use, the Hendrick Performance Track Attack program brings a winning pedigree to a customer’s garage and puts them in the driver’s seat.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Mechanic to join our Track Attack team. The right candidate will possess the knowledge and experience to install, assemble, remove, repair or replace mechanical systems or components of the race car, such as brakes, suspension, driveline, steering, cooling system and exhaust system. They will be responsible for making technical decisions based on knowledge, experience, and direction from Engineering and the Production Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assemble, disassemble, install, repair, and/or replace steering and suspension components.

• Install, repair, overhaul, and adjust brake systems.

• Install engines and attach all components as required

• Assemble, install, and inspect fuel cells, fuel lines, etc. on car.

• Install air ducts, cooling systems, interior, interior wiring and driver equipment.

• Install exhaust systems, including headers and tail pipes.

• Understand the engine start up procedure and apply it appropriately.

• Able to manufacture hydraulic hoses and use the hose crimper.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Experience: 4 plus years of experience

Other Requirements: Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Ability to travel if needed. Thorough understanding of mechanical components and car systems. Owning and utilizing personal tools and equipment. Knowledge of measuring tools and calipers. Ability to follow specific and detailed procedures. Strong ability to problem solve.
