Race Engineer

Job Description

As a Race Engineer at TRICON Garage, you will be required to be driven and a self-motivated individual with experience in the field of engineering and vehicle dynamics. The job will require the individual to work within a team environment including our competition group and perform various race engineering tasks that pertain to competition and vehicle dynamics. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of engineering experience in motorsports.

Job Functions

• Be able to generate test plans and facilitate DIL test to help the race team prepare for race weekends and track tests.
• Travel to NCTS race events and provide at-track support to the race team with simulation and analytics support.
• Use engineering tools to assist the competition group and race teams with set up development leading up to a race weekend.
• Attend select track test events to assist in maintaining and reviewing data from the data acquisition system.
• Perform post-event reports after race or test.
• Be able to collaborate with the Competition Director, Crew Chiefs and race engineers as a team to guide performance and setup development.

• Perform aerodynamic analysis and use engineering principles to optimize vehicle design and performance.

Qualifications

• BS Science in Mechanical Engineering degree or higher
• At least 1 years' experience in professional motorsports
• Have a basic knowledge and experience with vehicle simulation and DIL simulators
• Have a high standard of quality and pride in your work
• Desire to learn and further your knowledge in vehicle dynamics
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while having a high standard of organizational and communication skills
• Demonstrate the abilities of having strong analytic and problem solving skills
• Ability to operate well under pressure in a team environment to meet tight deadlines

Logistics

• Race Engineer position is onsite, located at Mooresville, NC facility
• The position will require you to be available to travel on NCTS race weekends and various tests as needed.
