LEGACY MOTOR CLUB is a professional motor racing club consisting of two full-time teams competing in the premiere NASCAR Cup Series. The team is based in Statesville, North Carolina, owned by entrepreneur Maury Gallagher and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson. NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty “The King” is the Team Ambassador of LEGACY MOTOR CLUB.

Position Description

The Trackside IT Technician is responsible for the deployment, support, and development of trackside IT systems for LEGACY MOTOR CLUB. They will play a key part in ensuring the delivery of best-in-class IT to the company and our employees while at track.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, support and pack away trackside IT systems at all race and test events, maintaining maximum uptime and reliability, following all checklists and monitoring throughout event.
  • Plan and perform upgrades and changes to infrastructure both in and out of the racing season, adhering to change control and risk management.
  • Provide technical support to users at the track.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze transport, networking, systems, and software configurations.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the trackside network (LAN, WAN and WLAN).
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the trackside team equipment as it relates to IT (pit boxes, toolboxes, haulers).
  • Support server hardware, storage platforms and security appliances.
  • Responsible for testing, setup, configuration, and integration of multiple vendor products
  • Support and administer Windows based services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
  • Support OEM specific hardware and software at track and factory.
  • Manage trackside inventory, stock levels, forecasts, and procurement.
  • Complete reports in a timely manner, and ensure documentation is kept up to date and accurate.
  • Adhere to all IT and wider business processes and policies.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of motorsports experience preferred (NASCAR, IMSA, INDYCAR, or other top-level motorsports series)
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented, ability to multitask and work under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing
  • Bending, stooping required
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Travel: Extensive travel required; position is required with the team to all at-track race and testing events
