General Summary:
Reports to the Head of Digital & Brand Strategy. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for supporting and helping shape the development of concepts, designs and production for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), its drivers and its sponsor partners. This individual will assist in the creation of digital, social, print and sales materials for the championship NASCAR team and will focus on the creation, production and execution of original designs and content. They will be a member of a team that creates and implements highly sharable content that is creative, attention-getting and on-brand for the race team, its drivers and its sponsor partners. The role requires a design professional with experience in ideating and producing digital and print designs for distribution across social media platforms and other outlets. Please note, each candidate must provide a design portfolio for review.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of an in-house department that will have capabilities across digital marketing, content creation, branding and social media marketing
  • Develop and produce distinctive graphics for social media, email, digital platforms, sales materials, print collateral and more
  • Play a key role in pushing SHR’s brand and creative capabilities to the next-level by producing a wide range of content forms and continually bringing forth new ideas
  • Manage production of print pieces from conception to completion with knowledge of prepress. Ability to attend press checks as needed to confirm quality of product
  • Prepare images for digital and print through color correction and photo retouching
  • Help ensure SHR brand and partner consistency across all assets and fan touch points, ensuring all creative meets the needs and standards of our organization and our partners
  • Participate in weekly creative meetings to ideate new projects, outline schedules for upcoming projects and set an annual calendar for content distribution
  • Have a pulse on emerging digital and design trends as well as pop culture and understand how that can apply to SHR
  • Work alongside of the team’s internal partnership marketing, sales, merchandise, hospitality and public relations departments to help deliver creative assets needed across the organization
  • Provide creative thinking to help solve business problems
  • Participates in other projects as assigned by the President related to Stewart-Haas Racing, Haas F1 Team, Tony Stewart Racing, Tony Stewart Foundation, Gene Haas Foundation and additional miscellaneous projects

Qualifications and Work Experience:

  • 2-5 years of expertise in digital and print content strategy development, production, and storytelling at a brand or sports team
  • Strong background and proficiency knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite with a focus in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Extensive knowledge of content development / creation processes (i.e., creative briefs, setting realistic turnaround times for creative projects, developing, and maintaining brand standards)
  • Extensive experience in digital, print, and social media formats
  • Strong understanding of visual elements
  • Experience tracking projects using collaborative tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, receive and provide constructive feedback and analyze creative feedbackAbility to prioritize and multitask, managing multiple projects with tight timelines
  • A team-oriented mindset and an ability to relate to others and develop sound relationships

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to quickly and calmly react and solve problems, especially “on the fly” as necessary
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
General office environment. No extraordinary physical demands required. Some stress may occur when tight deadlines are required.

Travel Demands:
Travel to race events and / or extended hours may be required at times.

Air travel, hotel accommodations and per diem are the responsibility of SHR. Air travel to race events may be via private team aircraft.
