Job Summary:

The Videographer creates relevant and engaging long and short form videos for Spire Motorsports year-round. This position includes travel to the track to capture at-track and on-track video content as well development of off-season content. The Videographer is expected to create high production cinematic video for Spire and its sponsors as needed and sharing or producing content for other entities under the Spire Holdings umbrella.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Consistently produce organic content to be shared across Spire Motorsports social channels.
  • Travel to a minimum of 32 races to get at-track and on-track video of racing and the race experience, including hospitality. (this will include NASCAR Cup Series, and Truck Series in corresponding weekends and potentially some Xfinity races)
  • Work with the Director of Marketing on content strategy, ideation and storytelling as well as team and driver announcements.
  • Follow a content calendar for all required content needs at the race shop, locally off-site, at-track, off-site near track for things like driver appearances or team announcements.
  • Create high production value, cinematic style, video for sponsors when such is required as a deliverable.
  • Utilize tools such as Adobe Suite, Google Business Suite, Hootsuite, Microsoft Office, Zoomph and Slack.
  • Create content for and post on platforms such as Instagram, Threads, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Shoot photos on an as needed basis.
  • Ability to create graphics (tune-in, race day, announcements, etc.) is a plus but not required.
  • Work with other creative teams and sponsors to plan video shoots.
  • Setting up and taking down cameras, microphones, lighting, props and other equipment.
  • Editing footage after recording.
  • Adding computer graphics, closed captioning and special effects footage.
  • Preparing background film.
  • Develop edits upon request prior to interviewing.
  • Recording events and editing footage while working independently or with a small crew.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment, with a talent for organization, collaboration, and communication
  • Interviewing people and collaborating with others to obtain all the footage required for shoots.
  • Selecting, cleaning and performing maintenance (including some repairs) on recording equipment.
  • Working with physical and digital media for post-production.
  • Providing creative input into the production and solving technical problems.
  • Directly interacting knowledgably with others during production.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working as a professional videographer.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in a racing or fast paced sports environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and moving around while carrying objects.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Position needs to occasionally move to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Regularly access low and high spaces that may be at irregular angles such as in or under a vehicle.
