Data Analyst

Job Summary

The JGR analytics group is looking for a motivated Data Analyst to join our growing team. This role will primarily focus on developing and creating reports and analyses centered around event preparation and post-race analysis but will also contribute to more advanced modeling and analysis projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, sharp analytical skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for motorsports.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to vehicle performance, competitor performance, and on-track competition.
• Collaborate with other members of the analytics team to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive reports that provide innovative insights into race performance, team operations, and race strategy.
• Develop and assemble reports to aid teams and drivers in race preparation.
• Assist in the creation of predictive models to enhance race strategy and decision-making.
• Participate in race day support activities by performing real-time performance and competitive data analysis.
• Present findings and recommendations to team members and management in a clear and concise manner.
• Support the continuous improvement of data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.

Required Education and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g. R, Python, Excel, SQL).
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent data presentation and written communication skills.
• Passion for motorsports and a desire to contribute to the success of Joe Gibbs Racing.
• Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Logistics

• Job location is in Huntersville, NC; full-time, on-site work is required.
• Weekend work or on-call availability to support race events is required.
• Limited travel to test or race events may be required.
