Weekend Motorsport Event Staff Positions (US – California)

FAT Karting League’s mission is to achieve mass participation in motorsport by radically reducing the barriers to entry.
We run karting events across California throughout the yearto cater for drivers withdifferent levels of experience, that creates a pathway from age 6-17.
We are looking for enthusiastic and hard-working people - with a passion for motorsport - to join our weekend staff crew for 2025. If you don\u2019t feel you have the skills listed for the advertised roles, and want to develop a career in motorsport, we would still like to hear from you.
The roles we need to fill will involve working Friday to Sunday and potentially travelling to different karting circuits around California.
Roles
• Event Manager — We are looking for somebody with event organisation and management skills with experience at motorsport events, to assist at our events.
• Customer Experience Lead — We are looking for someone with lots of energy, enthusiasm and great customer service skills. They will need to be empathetic, calm and work well under pressure.
• Mechanics (skilled and unskilled) — We are looking for a number of skilled and unskilled mechanics roles with various levels of experience to join our team to assist in the preparation and maintenance of karts. Skilled mechanics should have experienced in either race cars, motorbikes or karts. For these positions, we have full and part time roles.
• Race Director / Clerk — We are looking for experienced individuals to be responsible for our judicial processing and implementation of sporting regulations.
• Marshals — We are looking for individuals to assist with on track incidents, recovering karts and to warn drivers via flags or marshal lights. An understanding of motorsport rules is important for this role.
• Dummy Grid Marshall — We are looking for individuals to assist with the smooth operation of our pitlane by ensuringkarts and driversare ready for the next session or race.
• Timekeeper — We are looking for an experienced motorsport timekeeper, preferably with experience of Alpha Timing.
• Driver Coaches — We are looking for people with a passion and understanding of motorsport who feel they could work as driver coaches to pass that knowledge on. These people will need to have good communication skills and need to be comfortable communicating with and working with children.
• Pit lane Coordinator — We are looking for someone with good people and organisation skills who can work well under pressure and hasthe confidenceto be a team leader. Experience in motorsport desirable but not essential. This role might suit someone who has previous experience of working with children.
• Kart Technician — We are looing for someone who can diagnose and fault find software issues.
