Vinyl Installer / Mechanic

Job Description:

As a Vinyl Installer / Mechanic, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the application of vinyl wraps and decals. You will help ensure the fit and finish of our race cars by concentrating on the fine details and striving for perfection. Additionally, you will assist with general shop/mechanic duties as required. This may include teardown of cars, cleaning and servicing of parts, assembly of parts, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and must have keen attention to detail. Should be comfortable working in pressure situations and with deadlines. Must have the desire to be part of a team and thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Vinyl Wrap and Decal Installation
• Painting of cars and parts
• Following procedures and ensuring that work is done according to specifications
• Cleaning and prepping parts for wrap/paint
• Assisting with inventory management for wraps, decals and supplies
• Ensuring work is up to company standards
• Communicating with teammates on scheduling needs
• Disassembly and cleaning of parts
• Inspection and servicing of parts
• Shop cleaning and organization
• Using database for part tracking and maintenance history
• Component assembly and installation
• Gain a thorough understanding of race car building by interacting with all the talented people at HFT.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Experience with automotive vinyl wrap application required
• Motorsports experience preferred
• Experience with automotive paint work preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Must be thorough with strong attention to detail.
• Solid hands-on skills and comfort with basic tools and light fabrication
• Must work well under pressure with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to build internal relationships and interact with all levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong teamwork and people skills

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Must be able to work long hours with a flexible work schedule. Able to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes moving vehicles, hot metal, fumes, extreme heat, noise, and power tools.
