Shock Technician
Summary :
- Duties include preparation and maintenance of shock components, as well as documenting shock combinations and set up.
- Responsible for testing shock performance and for utilizing shock dynamometer to adjust shocks to match desired specifications .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Builds shocks and stop bumps in an efficient manner under critical time constraints .
- Uses shock dynamometer to adjust shocks to match desired specifications .
- Utilizes database to record measurements and track component mileage for reference .
- Assists Crew Chief in identifying the best shock and bump stop combination for testing and utilization during race events .
- Assists in the management of parts inventory relating to shocks .
- Ability to operate and interpret shock dyno graphs .
- Other duties as assigned by management

Physical Demands:
- Requires vision (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE) – safety glasses.
- Constantly manually manipulates , lifts/carries 10 pounds or less, and pushes/pulls 12 pounds or less.
- Frequently stands, walks, reaches outward, bends, lifts/carries up to 20 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally sits, reaches above shoulder, squats or kneels, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
Environment Demands:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
