Overview
RCR Manufacturing Solutions, part of the RCR Enterprises (RCR) family, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its CNC Machining Division. The division produces precision components for Richard Childress Racing, ECR Engines, RCR Manufacturing Solutions (Ground Mobility), and external customers across motorsports, automotive, aerospace, defense, firearms, and industrial markets. This role oversees the full operational lifecycle, from RFQ through final delivery, while stewarding RCR’s 25-year relationship with Okuma.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
• Lead and manage a highly skilled team of machinists, programmers, engineers, and support staff.
• Foster a disciplined, detail-oriented culture built on communication, safety, and accountability.
• Balance high performance expectations with respect, transparency, and fairness.
• Build alignment and trust across RCR Manufacturing Solutions, RCR, and ECR Engines to ensure operational priorities are shared and understood.
Operational & Business Management
•Oversee day-to-day aspects of the CNC machining operation, including RFQ management, quoting, scheduling, programming, machining, quality control, and delivery.
•Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lean systems across all functions to improve repeatability and efficiency.
•Implement KPI-driven production tracking and visual management tools to monitor performance in real time.
•Maintain strict attention to detail, schedule integrity, and cost control throughout every phase of production.
Quality & Compliance
•Lead the division’s AS9100 quality management program to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
•Oversee internal audits, corrective actions, and process documentation.
•Promote a culture of “right-the-first-time” quality and craftsmanship.
Financial Management
•Manage budgets, P&L, and cost-control initiatives.
•Collaborate with RCR leadership on pricing, capital investments, and strategic direction.
•Identify process, tooling, and workflow improvements that reduce cost and increase throughput.
Customer & Stakeholder Relations
•Maintain direct, proactive communication with RCR, ECR, and external customers regarding progress updates, quality, and on-time delivery.
•Build external business relationships consistent with RCR’s standards for quality and reputation.
Qualifications
•Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership in CNC machining and precision manufacturing.
•Proven experience overseeing manufacturing operations including quoting, programming, machining, and quality control.
•Deep technical expertise with CNC machines and OSP control systems.
•Track record of enforcing operational discipline in a positive, team-driven way.
•Skilled in lean manufacturing, process improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
•Business acumen with P&L management experience preferred.
