Aero Fabricator

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aero Fabricator to join our high-performance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and modifying aerodynamic components using advanced materials and precision techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of aerodynamics, fabrication processes, and quality control standards, particularly in fast-paced, performance-driven environments such as motorsports or aerospace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble aerodynamic components including splitters, diffusers, ducts, and body panels.
  • Work with composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar) and metals (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel).
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications to ensure accurate builds.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, brake presses, shears, and hand tools.
  • Perform precision trimming, bonding, and finishing of aero parts.
  • Collaborate with engineers and race teams to develop and refine aerodynamic solutions.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Support rapid prototyping and iterative design processes during testing and development phases.
  • Be familiar with Romer arm processes and associated measuring software.
  • Other duties assigned by Manager.

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in fabrication, aerospace, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in aero fabrication, preferably in motorsports, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing.
  • TIG welding and vacuum bagging experience.
  • Knowledge of CFD and wind tunnel testing processes.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with motorsports regulations (e.g., NASCAR, IMSA, F1) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in working with composite materials and metal fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic principles and performance optimization is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel or work extended hours during race events or testing (if applicable).
