Race Engineer
Position Overview
This role reports to the Crew Chief of one of Front Row Motorsports’ competition vehicles and will have direct impact on setup decisions, race strategy, car build processes, report generation, and many more items that affect the race results each weekend.
Responsibilities
· Advise all setup, strategy, and car build decisions for the team and driver
· Run Simulation to analyze setup choices
· Coordinate upcoming race car build sheets
· Review past data and generate reports
· View and interpret data from the car live on a race weekend
· Perform tests on stationary vehicle and component rigs and collect data
· Perform analysis on vehicle data and give feedback to team Crew Chief
· Calculate fuel mileage and other in-race strategy numbers
· Document all pertinent information from a race weekend for future review
· Attend some or all races on the NASCAR schedule
· Operate in a team environment and work well with a mixed group of individuals possessing different talents.
Qualifications
· 2+ years of experience in motorsports at any level
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
· Proficient computer skills
· Knowledge of NASCAR rules
· Knowledge of vehicle dynamics
· Ability to work a flexible schedule in a demanding industry
· Ability to think and react fast in a stressful environment
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Clear communication and teamwork skills
