Roush initially founded the team in 1988, and it has since become one of the most successful racing operations in the world, propelling him to be the first NASCAR owner to amass 300 wins and capturing eight championships, including back-to-back NASCAR Cup titles in 2003 and 2004. Keselowski, a former owner in the NASCAR Truck Series, is the 2012 NASCAR Cup Series Champion. In 2007, Roush partnered with Henry, who also owns Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox, English Premier League’s Liverpool F.C., and the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins, to form Roush Fenway Racing. Off the track, RFK is a leader and proven winner in NASCAR marketing solutions, having produced multiple award-winning social media, digital content, and experiential marketing campaigns.

RFK is seeking a skilled R&D Car Chief to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is responsible for leading the assembly, preparation, and maintenance of the race team's R&D vehicles, used for testing new components, setups, and systems before they are introduced to competition cars. This role acts as a bridge between engineering and mechanical departments, ensuring that development programs are executed efficiently, safely, and with attention to detail.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical skills for vehicle builds (geometry changes, shock/springs changes, etc.).
  • Significant experience with all aspects of chassis set up.
  • Basic working knowledge of CMM tools & software.
  • Oversee test car builds ensuring overall car build meets production schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining testing equipment, inventory, tools, etc.
  • Self-motivated and able to produce results with a high level of autonomy.
  • High level of attention to detail ensuring tests are executed correctly and with reliable results.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a motorsports environment, preferably with a NASCAR Cup or Xfinity Series team.
  • Proven ability to lead mechanical work on race or test cars in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, logging, and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering and mechanical teams.
  • Willingness to travel for test/race events and work flexible hours during the season.
  • Prior role as a car chief or lead mechanic on a competitive NASCAR team.
  • Experience supporting rig and track testing.
