RFK Racing

R&D Fabricator

Concord, NC, USA Full Time

About RFK Racing
RFK Racing, in its 38th season in 2025, features an ownership lineup pairing one of the sport’s most iconic names, Jack Roush, along with NASCAR Champion Brad Keselowski and Fenway Sports Group owner John Henry. Roush initially founded the team in 1988, and it has since become one of the most successful racing operations in the world, propelling him to be the first NASCAR owner to amass 300 wins and capturing eight championships, including back-to-back NASCAR Cup titles in 2003 and 2004. Keselowski, a former owner in the NASCAR Truck Series, is the 2012 NASCAR Cup Series Champion. In 2007, Roush partnered with Henry, who also owns Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox, English Premier League’s Liverpool F.C., and the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins, to form Roush Fenway Racing. Off the track, RFK is a leader and proven winner in NASCAR marketing solutions, having produced multiple award-winning social media, digital content, and experiential marketing campaigns.

RFK is seeking a skilled R & D Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support the design, development, and prototyping of processes, fixtures, and tools that enable the efficient and precise construction of race cars. You will work closely with engineers and competition groups to bring new concepts into physical form, ensuring precision, repeatability, and compliance with racing regulations. This role combines hands-on fabrication with R&D testing and iterative development.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, assemble, and fit parts, fixtures, and subassemblies (tubing, brackets, panels, structural components) to precise tolerances.
  • Use metrology and scanning equipment (laser/optical scanners, portable CMMs, coordinate measuring arms, etc.) to verify part geometry and conformity to design.
  • Compare measured results to CAD models, analyze deviations, and provide feedback to engineering.
  • Perform welding (TIG, MIG, or other methods), cutting, bending, machining, trimming, shaping, and finishing operations.
  • Work with composite materials (carbon fiber layups, repairs, bonding, trimming) as needed.
  • Iterate on prototypes and tooling: modify designs, refine fitment, and improve fabrication methods for performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation of fabrication methods, assembly procedures, and inspection standards.
  • Assist in the design, fabrication, and maintenance of fixtures and jigs to support R&D builds and testing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with aero, design, and production teams to optimize components and assembly processes.

Qualifications / Skills Required

  • Several years of hands-on fabrication experience, ideally in motorsports, aerospace, or other high-performance industries.
  • Experience with composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass), adhesives, and finishing techniques.
  • Strong metrology experience, including use of calipers, height gauges, coordinate measurement devices, and scanners.
  • Ability to interpret CAD models and engineering drawings and translate them into precise fabrication steps.
  • Proficiency in welding processes (TIG, MIG) and fabrication of metals (steel, aluminum).
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface effectively with engineers and technical staff.
  • High attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset for resolving deviations, tolerances, and design challenges.
