Decal Applicator - Fabricator

The experienced decal installer has the initiative, necessary skills and experience to roll up their sleeves and jump right into the application of decal vinyl vehicle wraps having experience installing vinyl graphics, wallpaper, and various other types of signage, on race cars, parts, and equipment in accordance with design specification and have a positive attitude, be committed to quality, always paying attention to details, consistently delivering outstanding service, and able to function effectively in a fast paced environment

Duties and Responsibilities

• Applying vinyl graphics, wraps, lettering to race vehicles according to design specifications.
• Works closely with the head graphic decal applicator on a production schedule to insure the job is done timely and accurately.
• Cleans and prepares the surface of the race car, parts and equipment for decal application.
• Performs the installation of full-vehicle wraps including major and minor cut decal installation.
• Accurately assists with applying decals on race cars, parts, and equipment using a hand torch, razor blade, decal spreader and adhesive tools.
• Ensures decal placement meets design specifications from sponsors and race teams for each event.
• Assist with any vinyl repairs on transporters throughout the season and applies additional decals as needed.
• Ensures quality product is completed accurately and delivered timely to other departments in accordance with the production schedule; adapts to deadlines effectively. Presents any obstacles that will delay the production schedule to the Shop Manager immediately.
• Helps with fabrication in the fab shop as time allows
• Safely operating machinery according to recommended safety specifications, including use of all protective equipment necessary (protective eyewear, gloves, mask, earplugs, etc.) while identifying any safety hazards and reporting all risks immediately to a supervisor.
• Keeping work area clean and organized at all times.
• Provide assistance to other team members on other duties as appropriate.
• Other duties & special projects will be added as assigned

Qualifications

• Prior work-related experience, preferably in the racing industry with application of vinyl wraps and an understanding of the components and structural framework of race cars.
• High school diploma or equivalent and basic reading and advanced mechanical skills necessary.
• Must have an understanding and ability to read and do calculations with measurements.
• Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional processes at one time.
• Excellent written, verbal and communication skills and problem-solving skills.
• Manual experience using all equipment necessary to perform job responsibilities: measuring devices, etc.
• Manual dexterity and good eyesight are required to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to concentrate on detailed work and perform moderate to heavy lifting.
• Must maintain a high level of quality and ability to conform to the wants/needs of the race team target settings
