Full Time
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and plans to determine welding requirements and best practices.
- Preparing materials which may involve cutting, grinding, cleaning, and aligning metal parts before welding.
- Ability to set up and operate welding equipment, this includes selecting the appropriate welding process (MIG, TIG, etc.), adjusting machine settings, and ensuring proper operation.
- Perform efficient welding of various base materials including but not limited to mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
- Perform work with help of various hand and power tools.
- Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products. After welding, they must inspect the welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Ability to perform maintenance and minor repairs of welding equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with team members, engineers, or supervisors to complete projects.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with materials, equipment, or welding processes.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, kneeling and crouching.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks on a regular basis.
- Required manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Qualification Requirements:
- Proven experience as welder.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and processes (GMAW, GTAW, FCAW etc.)
- Experience welding mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
- Experience in using electric or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Experience reading and interpreting technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
- Familiarity with ISO9001 quality management systems.
